Бест" страховым компаниям на основе количественного и качественного анализа их деятельности, финансовой отчетности, страхового и инвестиционного портфеля и др.; рейтинги делятся на две основные группы: безопасные (secure) и уязвимые (vulnerable); рейтинги безопасного уровня включают: A++ и A+ — превосходный (superior), A и A- — отличный (excellent), B++ и B+ — очень хороший (very good); к рейтингам уязвимого уровня относятся: B и B- — приемлемый (fair), C++ и C+ — маргинальный (marginal), C и C- — слабый (week), D — плохой (poor), E — под надзором регулирующих органов (under regulatory supervision), F — в процессе ликвидации (in liquidation), S — рейтинг приостановлен (rating suspended); кроме этого используется обозначение "NR" (от not rated), означающее, что компании по каким-л. причинам не присвоен рейтинг, после NR добавляется цифра, указывающая на причину отсутствия рейтинга; напр., NR-1 означает, что рейтинг не присвоен в связи с отсутствием достаточной информации, NR-2 означает, что рейтинг не присвоен в связи тем, что компания недостаточно крупная или не обладает достаточным опытом работы)See:Англо-русский экономический словарь > Best's financial strength rating
